You will want to be there! Two of the group members, Joel Swofford and David Cunningham, both sang for us a couple years ago with the Jericho Road Quartet. As always, this will be a free concert. A love offering will be received, 100% of which goes to the group. Based on the Apostle Paul's admonition to his young charge in 2nd Timothy 2:15, this program seems to grow more popular – and more profitable – with each passing year. Young boys and girls study and are trained to not be ashamed when called upon to speak a word for their Lord. State of Texas historical marker!

On the 85th Anniversary of Fifth Street Baptist Church in November of 2006, a model of the first wooden building was made for display at the homecoming. A picture of the model and the history of the church was on the front page of the newspaper in Levelland for that occasion. As a result the Hockley County Historical Commission invited someone from the church to join the historical group and work toward getting a Historical Marker.

After two and a half years of work between the Hockley Co. Historical Commission and the state organization in Austin, the Historical Marker became a reality and was placed in March of 2009. On March 29, 2009, the church held a dedication program to unveil the marker to the public. The picture was taken at the dedication program.
